Elk City, OK

Elk City, Oklahoma offers a complete view of small town Oklahoma and life as it has been on Rt 66. Home of the National Rt 66 Museum, Elk City has Onion Burgers and a chance to visit a hotel Elvis Presley slept in.

Elk City began as planned lots and streets after a land rush in 1901. Railroad service started a few months later and Elk City began to grow into a farm community and later an oil industry town.

A great stop on Rt. 66 offers Mom and Pop hotels and restaurants dated by Americana architecture.
